One of the most well known psychic/prophets of all time was Edgar Cayce. He was
known as the "sleeping prophet" due to his ability to do psychic readings and
healings while in a trance state. During one his psychic sessions he would lay
down and enter into a hypnotic state. While in this state, he could diagnose illness,
read past lives, give advice on topics such as business, and give prophecies on
events that were yet to come; these readings not only gave specific advice to
individuals, but also answered some of the deeper secrets of the
universe.
Edgar Cayce was born on March 18, 1877 in Hopkinsville, KY. His psychic abilities
began in childhood and even during this time he was able to see and communicate
with spirits. On June 17, 1903, he married Gertrude Evans and they had three children.
He was also a church attender who read the Bible once a year and taught Sunday school.
While working, he was struck by laryngitis which caused a complete loss of speech. A local
hypnotist was able to help Edgar get his voice back. Cayce discovered that he could not only
heal himself while he was in a hypnotic state, but he could also help others too.
Later in Cayce's life, he moved to Virginia Beach and started the Association For
Research And Enlightenment, which gave him the opportunity to study spiritual
matters such as healing, reincarnation, dream interpretation, psychic
development, and ancient mysteries. Edgar Cayce passed from this earth on
January, 3, 1945. The world is truly a better place because of his life.
